Forest railway in Kommandó/Comandău
The Forest Railway is one of the narrow-gauge railways that were used in the past to transport timber from the forest.
The railway network was dozens of kilometres long, along the Great Baska, Little Baska and their tributaries.
Steam locomotives carried trains loaded with timber from the mountains daily, which were taken by another locomotive to the upper end of the glide, from where they were lowered towards Covasna.
From there, another locomotive would take the train to the processing plant in Covasna or to the main station, where it would be loaded into wagons for transport by standard gauge rail to the customers.
