Biális mansion in Csíkszentmihály/Mihăileni

The founder of the family, Ferenc Biális, was of Italian origin, from Genoa, who came to Transylvania as a soldier around 1650.

The Biális manor house was built in 1837 in the old style of the Szekler noble mansions, surrounded by large plots and outbuildings, secured by a stone fence. The Biális married into the most noble Szekler primate families, thus gaining higher social positions through their blood ties, but also serving Szekler interests to a high level according to their talents. At the end of the 19th century, they were still listed in the Csíkszentmihály/Mihăileni estate register with the Minierek family as undivided estates. The Biális mansion, left empty, became the property of the municipality, probably to satisfy the heirs, and the dwelling house became a municipality house. During the two world wars it served as a military dressing room.
