Mădăraș is the longest and youngest volcanic mountain range in the center of the eastern group of the Carpathians, and its highest peak is found in the area called Mădăraș, with an altitude of 1801 meters. This is currently the most popular ski resort in Transylvania. You can buy ski passes, rent ski equipment and benefit from group skiing lessons at Pensiunea Súgó. The ski resort is covered with snow between mid-December and early April.
